# Why some tender fields are missing

> Tender Navigator shows the fields a source platform published for a notice and omits the rest rather than inventing them. A missing estimated budget, a missing deadline, codes in only one classification system, a short description or a not-yet-generated AI summary are all normal and reflect the original notice.

## The rule

Every field on a tender comes from the notice as the source platform published it. When the source did not state a value, Tender Navigator leaves the field out (or shows a dash where a row is always present) instead of guessing. A missing field is information about the notice, not a fault in Tender Navigator.

## Field by field

| Field | Why it can be missing | What to do |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Estimated budget** | Most procurement notices publish no budget at all. Tender Navigator shows a figure only when one is stated, and never a zero or a dash in its place. | Use the budget filter's "Published budgets" switch consciously: excluding budget-less tenders drops most of them. | **Deadline** | Some notices, for example prior information notices and some framework announcements, have no submission deadline. The row shows "No deadline". | Check the original notice for the procedure's timeline. |
| **CPV, NAICS or UNSPSC codes** | A notice carries the codes of its own classification system. A European notice usually has CPV codes and no NAICS; a US notice the reverse. Some portals publish no codes. | Add codes from more than one system to a filter that spans markets. See [CPV, NAICS and UNSPSC codes](/knowledge-base/classification-codes). |
| **Description** | Some portals publish only a title and a few lines; the detail lives in attached documents Tender Navigator does not ingest. | Open the original notice. A thin description also produces weaker AI reasoning. |
| **Language** | Rarely, the source does not state it. | The description itself shows the language. |

## On evaluated results

A result shows the same fields as the notice plus the verdict and reasoning. The **Open original tender** link is always present on an evaluated result.

## On exports

Exports keep missing values empty. A budget is exported as an empty number and an empty currency code, not as zero.
