# Tender data differs from the original source

> When a tender in Tender Navigator differs from the notice on the procurement portal, the portal is right. Tender Navigator shows the notice as it was ingested; a correction or extension published later at the source, or a date the source itself published incorrectly, can differ from what Tender Navigator shows. Always confirm deadlines and requirements at the source before bidding.

## The source of truth

The original notice on the procurement platform is the record. Tender Navigator's copy exists so the notice can be searched and evaluated. When they differ, act on the source and treat the difference as a note about Tender Navigator's copy. See [Tender data and the original source](/knowledge-base/tender-data-and-original-source).

## Common differences and why

| You see | Likely reason |
| --- | --- |
| A **deadline** that has since changed at the source | The buyer extended or shortened it after Tender Navigator ingested the notice. Corrections published at the source are not always reflected. |
| A **deadline** far in the future or in the past | Some portals publish placeholder or malformed dates. Tender Navigator shows dates as published and does not correct them. |
| A **budget** missing in Tender Navigator but visible at the source | The budget was in an attached document or a field Tender Navigator does not ingest. Only a budget stated in the notice itself is shown. |
| A **title or description** that reads differently | Tender Navigator cleans stray punctuation and formatting; it does not rewrite text. A real difference means the source updated the notice. |
| A tender **no longer available** in Tender Navigator | The notice was withdrawn or closed at the source, or the search only returns active tenders. Results and lists keep tenders you already have. |
| **Codes** in one system only | Notices carry the codes of their own classification system. See [Why some tender fields are missing](/knowledge-base/missing-tender-fields). |

## Before you bid

Open the original notice (**Open original tender** on an evaluated result, or search the External ID on the source platform) and confirm the deadline, lots, eligibility, documents and clarifications there.

## Reporting a discrepancy

Send the tender's **Source**, **External ID**, what Tender Navigator shows and what the source shows through the [Support](/support) page. Reports of systematically wrong dates from a particular platform are especially useful.
