The AI summary on tender notices
The AI summary is a short AI-generated overview shown on a tender notice in Tender Navigator's Pre-search tool. It is generated the first time a notice is opened and reused afterwards, so it can arrive a few seconds after the rest of the notice. It summarises the notice; it does not judge the notice against your business, which is what AI evaluation does.

What it is
When you open a notice from the Pre-search tool, the side panel and the notice page show a block labelled AI summary: a few sentences describing what the tender is about, generated by an AI model from the notice text. Under it, Tender Navigator notes that it is an AI-generated overview and asks you to verify the details against the full notice.
The summary is the same for every user. It is not personalised and it does not use your filters or prompt.
How it is generated
Tender Navigator generates the summary on demand the first time a notice is opened and keeps it for subsequent opens. That is why the first open of a notice can take longer than a repeat open, and why the summary can appear a few seconds after the rest of the notice.
While the summary is being prepared, the block says "The overview for this notice is still being generated" and the rest of the tender is already readable. Tender Navigator re-checks a few times over about fifteen seconds and fills the summary in when it arrives. If it has not arrived by then, the block says "No AI overview is available for this notice yet" and offers a retry. See AI summary is still generating.

Where it appears
- The side panel of the Pre-search tool in the dashboard.
- The tender notice page reached from search results, for visitors and signed-in users alike.
It is not shown on the Results page: evaluated tenders show the evaluation reasoning instead.
Accuracy
The summary is a reading aid. It can miss a detail or misstate one, especially for notices in languages other than English or with very technical content. Read the full description and the original notice before acting on it. See Limitations of AI evaluation.
