Reading Pre-search results

What a result row contains

Each row in the Pre-search tool and on the public search page states facts about the notice:

• a ring at the left showing the time left to bid. Its centre gives the days to the deadline ("Today" on the last day, months when the deadline is more than 99 days away); its arc shows how much of the bidding window, from publication to deadline, is still left. The ring turns amber when 14 days or fewer are left, reads "Closed" once the deadline has passed, and shows a calendar symbol when the notice states no deadline;
• the Not evaluated badge, on every row;
• the New tag when the notice was published in the last 7 days, and the Deadline soon tag when the deadline is today or within 14 days. The ring and the Deadline soon tag use the same rule, so they never disagree;
• the notice title and the beginning of its description, with your keywords highlighted where a word starts with them. The highlighting shows why a notice was found; it is not a judgement of it;
• the deadline date (or "No deadline"), "Published" with the publication date, and the estimated budget when the notice states one;
• Open, which shows the notice in the side panel (dashboard) or on its own page (public search).

Results come back in the order the tender database returns them. Tender Navigator does not re-sort them.

What Not evaluated means

A search finds tenders; it does not evaluate them. Nothing on a result is a score, a rank or a verdict: the ring and the tags come from the notice's own dates, and the highlighting from its text. That is also why neither tag is ever green: green is the colour of Matched, a verdict only a filter produces. If one of your filters has already evaluated the same tender, its verdict is on the Results page, not on the search row.

There is no Evaluate button on search results, and on-demand evaluation of a single tender is not available yet. The way to an AI verdict is Save as Filter: see Turning a search into a filter and How AI tender evaluation works. Earlier versions of the homepage cards showed a percentage computed in the browser from keyword counts and recency; it was not an AI judgement and it was removed in September 2026.

The homepage and Tender search cards

The compact search on the homepage and the Tender search page shows the same facts as cards: the ring, the New and Deadline soon tags, the highlighted title and excerpt, the deadline, the publication date and the budget when stated. Opening a card shows the notice in a preview with a larger ring.

Visitors: the five-result preview

On the public search page and the homepage, a visitor sees at most five results, with a strip such as "You're seeing a 5-result preview of N tenders found" and Sign in / Get Started buttons. The cap cannot be widened by editing the address; it is applied on the request and again on what is displayed. Opening a preview notice shows the title, dates, country, language, source, the AI summary when there is one and the description. Below them, the full opportunity description, the link to the original notice and the AI evaluation are shown locked with a "Create free account" call to action; the AI evaluation block says what actually happens: when one of your filters picks up a tender like this, its AI evaluation appears on your Results page.

Signed in: paging and the side panel

In the dashboard the Pre-search tool shows 20 rows per page with Prev and Next and a "Showing a-b of N" counter, which always describes the rows on screen.

• Every new page is a new search, so it can take as long as the first one. When you press Next or Prev, the tool takes you to the top of the list, says "Loading page 3 of 25" and, after a moment, shows the same loading status as the first search in place of the rows. When the page arrives, a screen reader announces it, for example "Page 3 of 25 loaded, tenders 41 to 60 of 500".
• Pages you have already seen open instantly. Tender Navigator keeps the pages of the current search for this session, so going back does not search again. Pressing Search starts afresh. Nothing is loaded ahead of time.
• The page is in the address (?page=3 for page 3), so the browser's Back and Forward buttons move between pages, and opening or closing a notice keeps your page.
• If a page cannot be loaded, the page you were on stays, with "Page 3 could not be loaded. Please try again." and Retry.
• At most 100 pages can be paged through, which at 20 rows a page is the first 2,000 results. When a search finds more, the footer says so ("Only the first 2,000 of N can be paged through - narrow the search to see the rest."), and Next stops at page 100.

Opening a row shows the notice in a panel beside the results; the form and the list stay in place, and the address carries the open notice so that the browser back button and a copied link both work. On a narrow screen the panel takes over the content area with a Results button to go back.

Empty results

"No results in this search" means the database has nothing that fits all of the criteria combined. Broaden the search by removing the budget range, adding synonyms as extra keywords, or clearing the countries. See No tenders found.

Errors

If the search service cannot be reached, the tool shows "The search service could not be reached. Please try again." with a Retry button that re-runs the same search. A re-search keeps the previous results on screen while the new one runs, so a good answer is never replaced by a loading state.
